José Luis Brea, Spain (University of Castilla-La Mancha).
He is Titular Professor of Aesthetics and the Theory of Contemporary Art at the University of Castilla-La Mancha and Director of the journal Estudios Visuales. He is an independent art critic who contributes to several national and international magazines. He is currently the Spanish correspondent of Artforum, a member of the Advisory Council for the Artnodes Project of the Open University of Catalonia and regional editor of Rhizome. He is also a member of the Art Commission of the Fundación Telefónica, and the Humanities Commission of the FECYT of the Ministry of Science and Technology, currently coordinating its work group on "Art, Science and Technology". He was Director of the 1st International Congress of Visual Studies held in Madrid during ARCO'04. He has been Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cuenca and director of the arte aleph website and the magazines arts.zin and Acción Paralela. He has published several books and organised numerous exhibitions.
